Dust and Fume Extraction equipment installed in the new Design and Technology workshops

RAM Environmental were invited to quote for the supply and installation of all dust and fume extraction equipment required in the new build design and technology workshops at Hans Price Academy in Weston Super Mare.

Working closely with the school and the main building contractor Wilmot Dixon we were able to propose effective systems to control harmful contaminants emitted from woodwork machinery and heat treatment and welding equipment used by staff and students.

Upon approval of our design drawings and acceptance of our quotation we were able to plan our installation to coincide with the build program.

As part of the project we were asked to refurbish some of the existing dust extraction equipment to save cost. The equipment was returned to our workshops, stripped, repainted and rebuilt with new filters and seals to as new condition.

All additional components such as ductwork and dust capture hoods where manufactured by RAM Environmental to ensure the client received a solution which met with the requirements of health and safety guidance "HSG 258"

Following the submission of risk assessments and method statements, both the new and refurbished equipment was safely installed in their new surroundings.

Upon completion of the installation the equipment was commissioned and a report issued to the school. During the handover process our engineer attended site to provide training to staff to ensure safe use of the equipment.

RAM were extremely professional when they designed and fitted the LEV in our new design and technology department. Richards experience and knowledge working in a school environment was a great help in the design period. After Richard had fitted the extraction system all D&T staff and users of the department were very impressed with the outcome.
